Verstappen wint één simrace bij speciale Real Racers Never Quit-event

Aangezien de Grand Prix van Emilia-Romagna was afgelast, hadden de coureurs dit weekend veel tijd over. Max Verstappen kwam dit weekend toch in actie. Hij had namelijk met zijn vrienden van Team Redline een simrace georganiseerd waarbij er geld werd opgehaald voor de slachtoffers van de overstromingen. Verstappen won één van de vier simraces.

Onder de noemer van 'Real Racers Never Quit' kwamen Verstappen, meerdere simracers en coureurs uit andere klassen in actie in meerdere virtuele racewagens op een virtueel Imola. Ook McLaren-coureur Lando Norris nam onverwachts deel aan één van de wedstrijden, daarmee schroefde hij het aantal Formule 1-coureurs dat deelnam op naar twee.

In de eerste race reden de coureurs in een Dallara Formule 3-auto en kwam Verstappen als winnaar over de streep. De coureurs stapten daarna over naar de Mazda MX-5 en ditmaal had Verstappen pech en raakte hij een tegenstander. Red Bull Junior-coureur Ayumu Iwasa schreef deze wedstrijd op zijn naam. In de derde race werd en gereden met een Formule Ford en reed ook Norris mee. De Brit maakte een valse start waarna hij duelleerde met Verstappen. De zege ging uiteindelijk naar Jack Doohan. In de vierde race werd er gereden met een Toyota GR86 en won simracer Diogo Pinto.
