Alonso jaagt op zege: "Ik open vol de aanval"

Fernando Alonso is zeer sterk aan het huidige Formule 1-seizoen begonnen. De Spaanse Aston Martin-coureur eindigde al vier keer op de derde plaats en barst momenteel van de ambities. Dit weekend wil Alonso gaan toeslaan en steekt hij niet onder stoelen of banken dat hij voor de zege wil gaan.

Alonso is op verrassend sterke wijze aan het seizoen begonnen. Veel mensen plaatsten hun vraagtekens bij de transfer van de tweevoudig wereldkampioen naar Aston Martin, maar vooralsnog is de overstap een schot in de roos. Alonso sprak eerder al uit dat hij voor de zege wil gaan in Monaco en nu deze race voor de deur staat, doet hij dat weer.

Stratencircuit

Alonso blijft echter uiterst kalm voorafgaand het raceweekend. De Spanjaard benadert de race niet op een speciale manier en legt dat uit in gesprek met Motorsport.com: "Ik denk eerlijk gezegd hetzelfde als bij iedere race. We denken niet dat we de sterksten zijn in Monaco. Ik denk ook niet dat er veel verschil zal zijn ten opzichte van Bakoe, dat is immers ook een stratencircuit. Voor Miami geldt dat ook."

Aanvallen

Alonso tempert de verwachtingen, maar tegelijkertijd is hij wel zeer ambitieus. De Spaanse publiekslieveling wil weer winnen en ziet kansen in het ministaatje: "Ferrari was echt uitstekend in Bakoe, dus we zouden hier weer een goed weekend kunnen zien. Ik zou liegen als ik zou zeggen dat ik dit weekend niet kan winnen, want dit is een bijzondere kans. Circuits als Monaco en Singapore zijn plekken waar je vertrouwen moet opbouwen door elke keer weer dichter langs de muur te gaan. Daarom ga ik dit weekend meer aanvallen dan anders."

      na max mijn favoriet, ik zou het hem gunnen, maar dit gaat een prooi worden voor max denk ik, podium zou al mooi voor hem zijn.

    Front suspension: The top wishbone forward leg inboard pick-up has been lifted. This change results in improved positioning of wishbone wake, which in turn improves onset flow into the sidepod, therefore improving cooling performance.

    Floor Fences: There has been a local load change in fence camber, which results in an increased local load and improved flow to the diffuser. This should deliver more rear downforce.

    Sidepod inlet: A wide and high sidepod inlet helps improve flow to the floor edge, which results in more floor load and also improved flow to the rear corner.

    Sidepods and bodywork: The increased bodywork width increases local downforce and also improves the flow to the rear wing assembly and rear corner.

    Rear wing: The increased camber of the rear wing flap results in increased rear wing load, which in turn drops the pressure behind the car - thereby increasing rear floor load.

    Rear brake duct winglets: A second cascade of cake-tin winglets added to the additional winglet array adds local winglet load. This also drops the pressure behind the lower suspension legs, increasing load on these too.

      Klopt, ze hebben geen modificaties gedaan maar een compleet nieuwe auto gemaakt.
      Gewoon binnen de budget cap!
      Ik neem aan dat je voor een bakje koffie en/of een worstenbroodje voortaan van de catering van de buren in de paddock afhankelijk bent.

      Het is een verstandige keuze. De auto zal niet slechter zijn dan de vorige met die kleine pods.
      Ze kunnen nu data verzamelen en verzamelen. Dat kost geen geld. Grote kans dat ze volgend jaar een flinke stap maken.

      Overigens heb ik geld ingezet op Hamilton. Mocht ik winnen gaat dat geld naar een goed doel. En voor de zeurpieten over gokken.... Het zelfde bedrag dat ik heb ingelegd is al naar een goed doel.

      Winnen. Ik speel wel eens poker. Daar gaat het niet alleen om de kans, maar ook wat het oplevert.
      Ik heb het gedaan omdat Monaco een baan is die Hamilton ligt. En om dat Hamilton afgelopen races altijd snel was in langzame bochten. Maar ik was even de updates vergeten. Die hebben invloed op het gedrag en mogelijk hebben ze wat ingeleverd in de langzame bochten.
