Leclerc veilt gebruikte Monaco-uniform, doneert gehele bedrag aan omwonenden Emilia-Romagna

Ferrari-coureur Charles Leclerc gaat zijn volledige Ferrari-outfit, die hij het afgelopen weekend bij zijn thuisrace in Monaco heeft gedragen, via veilinghuis Sotheby's te koop aanbieden. Het bedrag dat de Monegask uiteindelijk weet te verzamelen, zal vervolgens aan de omwonenden van de Noord-Italiaanse regio Emilia-Romagna worden gedoneerd, het gebied waar twee weken geleden extreem hevige regenbuien het gebied teisterden en voor vele overstromingen zorgde.

Afgelopen weekend werd de Grand Prix van Monaco afgewerkt, en aangezien de race door de straten van het prinsendom de thuisrace van Ferrari-coureur Charles Leclerc is, was de coureur in een speciaal raceoutfit gehuld. Zijn volledige racepak inclusief schoenen, handschoenen en helm droeg de nationale kleuren van Monaco, een "one-off" kleurencombinatie voor een coureur die normaliter alleen in de traditioneel roodgekleurde uniforms te zien is.

Via social media kondigt Leclerc aan dat hij vier individuele veilingen heeft, namelijk voor zijn handschoenen, helm, uniform en schoenen. In de video vertelt Leclerc dat hij diezelfde spullen tijdens de race in Monaco heeft gebruikt, en hoopt een zo hoog mogelijk bedrag op te halen om op die manier de slachtoffers in Noord-Italië te kunnen helpen. Via het bekende Britse veilinghuis Sotheby's worden de vier producten aangeboden; de veilingen beginnen aanstaande vrijdag 2 juni om 11:00 uur Nederlandse tijd en sluiten op donderdag 6 juni om 18:00 uur Nederlandse tijd.
