FIA bevestigt pitlanestarts Leclerc en Sargeant

Ferrari maakte eerder vandaag al bekend dat Charles Leclerc de Spaanse Grand Prix vandaag vanuit de pitlane zal starten. De Monegask kende gisteren een rampzalige kwalificatie en Ferrari besloot in te grijpen. De FIA heeft de plannen van Ferrari nu bevestigd en deelt wat het team heeft aangepast.

Ferrari engineer Jock Clear gaf al aan dat het team de versnellingsbak van Leclercs bolide zou vervangen. De FIA heeft dit nu bevestigd, zo blijkt uit een nieuw document van de autosportfederatie. Wat direct opvalt is dat Leclerc bij de Energy Store en de Control Electronics al de regels heeft overtreden. Coureurs mogen maar twee Energy Stores per seizoen gebruiken en twee CE's. Dit levert hem een gridstraf op en aangezien hij ook de parc fermé-regels overtreedt, zal hij vanuit de pitlane gaan starten. Ook Williams-coureur Logan Sargeant zal vanuit de pitlane starten.

Kleine vraag: is het nog steeds zo dat diegene die er het eerst staat, als eerste mag vertrekken of mag Leclerc sowieso voor Sargeant vanwege de betere tijd?
