Verstappen kijkt naar de lucht: "Er komt misschien regen aan"

Max Verstappen start de Spaanse Grand Prix zometeen vanaf de pole position. De Nederlandse Red Bull Racing-coureur kan dit weekend zijn voorsprong op teamgenoot Sergio Perez in het wereldkampioenschap gaan uitbreiden. Verstappen zelf blijft rustig en kijkt vooral naar het weer.

Verstappen is nu Spanje bezig met een ijzersterk weekend. Hij was de snelste in alle drie de vrije trainingen en pakte gisteren ook de pole position in de kwalificatie. De Red Bull-coureur was veel sneller dan de rest en is dus ook de grote favoriet voor de zege in de Grand Prix van vandaag. Verstappen zelf blijft zeer rustig onder de grote druk.

Verstappen houdt rekening met mogelijke buien. Tijdens de build-up zwaaide hij kalm naar het publiek en keek hij naar de lucht. In gesprek met de organisatie was hij tijdens de build-up duidelijk: "Er hangt een beetje regen in de lucht. We moeten dus goed opletten met de strategie. We moeten er alles aan gaan doen om geen foutjes te maken. Tot nu toe is het een top weekend en is het heerlijk om met deze auto te rijden. Hopelijk kunnen we dat ook weer laten zien in de race."
