Steiner over hoge bandenslijtage Haas: "Terug naar de tekentafel"

Haas-baas Guenther Steiner benadrukt dat zijn team zo snel mogelijk een oplossing moet vinden voor de hoge bandendegradatie. De Noord-Italiaan zag coureur Nico Hulkenberg vanaf een zevende startplaats tijdens de race als een baksteen naar beneden vallen, terwijl Kevin Magnussen in de staart van het veld weinig indruk wist te maken.

Het Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya staat bekend als een locatie waar de bandenslijtage hoog is. Daar komt nog bij dat de koningsklasse bij haar Grand Prix afgelopen weekend van de oude lay-out van het circuit gebruik maakte, de variant waarbij er geen langzame chicane, maar twee lange en snelle, doordraaiende bochten het circuit afmaken.

Alle teams hadden last van hoge bandenslijtage, maar het Amerikaanse Haas was daarbij de grote opvaller. De renstal was genoodzaakt om haar beide coureurs maar liefst driemaal voor vers rubber naar binnen te sturen, een keer zo vaak als de rest van het veld. Guenther Steiner, de excentrieke teambaas van het team, zegt dat de renstal zo snel mogelijk een oplossing moet vinden om de bandendegradatie te verhelpen.

"Het was een nogal teleurstellend resultaat", begint Steiner na afloop van de race waarbij vooral coureur Nico Hulkenberg een goede startpositie voor de race in handen had. "We konden de banden gewoon niet in leven houden. We moesten een keer vaker naar binnen dan de rest, maar zelfs als we door waren gereden, dan eindigden we alsnog in dezelfde positie. We moeten terug naar de tekentafel om zo snel mogelijk een oplossing te vinden."

Hulkenberg beaamt de woorden van Steiner: "Het was een zware race. De bandenslijtage was zo hoog, dat we een driestopper moesten doen, en de rest niet. Over één ronde zijn we echt wel snel, maar wat betreft de lange runs hebben we nog flink wat huiswerk te doen", sluit Hulkenberg af.

  Ik heb daar toch vaak een discussie over met een kameraad... een keer zoveel van een eenheid dat bestaat uit 100, is m.i. 200. Hij geeft daarentegen aan... als je 100 pogingen hebt gedaan, en je doet een keer zo vaak een poging... dus letterlijk 1 keer extra... kom je op 101.
  
  Maar ik denk dat je voor de aanduiding 1 extra, eenmaal vaker dan... moet gebruiken.

  Dit heb ik opgeduikeld hierover, misschien dat dit wat helpt?
  
  In het Nederlands is het een volledig ingeburgerde
  en normale manier om te zeggen "een dubbele hoeveelheid" of "een dubbel
  bedrag". Net zoals "eens zo lang" betekent "dubbel zo lang" (zowel in langte
  als in tijdsduur). Op gelijke manier gaan "eens zo duur", "eens zo groot",
  "eens zo zwaar", "eens zo hoog", "eens zo diep", enz.
  
  Ze zeggen een (zoals je het hebt over een appel) keer zo groot en dat is (gek genoeg) hetzelfde als 2x zo groot. Je legt de klemtoon dan op KEER: het is een kéér zo groot.
  
  Je hebt dan meer over formaten. Die boom is een KEER zo groot als die boom ernaast. We zeggen dat niet zo over geldbedragen, dan is twee keer zoveel duidelijker.

  Letterlijk gezien is 1x zo veel natuurlijk precies evenveel.
  
  Waarom mensen dit zo raar gebruiken heb ik eerlijk gezegd nooit echt begrepen.
