Wolff wil weer winnen: "Ik zou alle winst opgeven"

Het team van Mercedes is dit seizoen wederom langzamer dan Red Bull Racing. Mercedes kende vorig jaar een lastig seizoen waarin men slechts één Grand Prix wist te winnen. Teambaas Toto Wolff baalt en geeft aan dat hij alle winst van het bedrijf zou opgeven om weer te kunnen vechten voor de zeges en de titels.

Mercedes koos vorig jaar voor een bijzonder concept. Het zogenaamde zeropod-concept was nieuw, maar bleek geen succes. Toen het team dit jaar weer aan de start verscheen met de zeropods zorgde dat voor veel verbazing, al snel concludeerde Mercedes dat ze iets moesten doen. In Monaco introduceerde Mercedes een nieuw design met grotere sidepods, maar Red Bull is vooralsnog nog steeds sneller.

Mercedes-teambaas Toto Wolff heeft er veel voor over om weer te winnen. De Oostenrijker legt zijn gevoel uit in gesprek met het Amerikaanse CNBC: "Ik zou alle winst opgeven om weer te winnen. Voor een normale zakenman klinkt dat raar, maar het is hoe we zijn. De budgetcap heeft alles veranderd in ons werkveld, dus we mogen geen cent meer uitgeven dan vaststaat. Als Mercedes zijnde hebben we lang gedomineerd, we wonnen acht titels op rij. Red Bull doet het nu beter. Het team met de beste engineering wint, zolang je de regels respecteert. We moeten onszelf bij elkaar pakken en ze verslaan."

  Mensen die veel emailen gebruiken het erg vaak. CC staat voor Carbon Copy.
  
  Gezien je naam zal je het wel weten.
  Je naam is trouwens een goede vertaling, bewust dan wel onbewust, van carbon copy.
