Leclerc weet nog steeds niet wat er mis ging in Spaanse kwalificatie

Charles Leclerc hoopt dit weekend in Canada beter voor de dag te komen dan twee weken geleden in Spanje. De Monegaskische Ferrari-coureur werd daar uitgeschakeld in het eerste deel van de kwalificatie waarna het team de Power Unit naar de fabriek stuurde voor onderzoek. Leclerc heeft echter geen antwoorden gekregen op zijn vragen.

Leclerc viel in Barcelona al in het eerst gedeelte van de kwalificatie af. Ferrari besloot in te grijpen en stuurde zijn Power Unit naar de fabriek voor een diepgaand onderzoek. Leclerc moest de race vanuit de pitlane starten, maar hij kon geen deuk in een pakje boter rijden. Hij scoorde geen WK-punten en was zeer teleurgesteld.

Dit weekend wil hij in Canada iets beter voor de dag komen. Hij geeft echter aan dat de problemen uit Spanje nog niet zijn opgelost, men weet namelijk niet wat er aan de hand is. Leclerc wordt geciteerd door Motorsportweek: "Nee, we hebben de oorzaak nog niet gevonden. Om eerlijk te zijn, dit was de eerste keer in mijn loopbaan dat dit gebeurde. Ik had het moeilijk in alle bochten naar links. Na de kwalificatie riep ik dat direct en op de data zag je duidelijk dat ik in die bochten zeven tienden verloor. Maar, de oorzaak is nog niet gevonden dus ik kan nog niet zoveel zeggen."
