Williams ontvangt dubbele boete voor bandenovertreding

Het team van Williams mocht zich na afloop van de kwalificatie in Canada bij de stewards melden voor een opvallende overtreding. Bij zowel Logan Sargeant als Alexander Albon had men namelijk een fout gemaakt met de banden. Het kwam ze op een dubbele boete te staan.

Williams had de banden van Sargeant en Albon voorafgaand de kwalificatie de banden niet op de juiste manier afgeleverd bij de bandenleverancier Pirelli. Dit is tegen de regels van het sportieve reglement, om precies te zijn: artikel 30.4 b. Williams kreeg voor deze overtreding twee keer een boete van 5000 euro. Het totaalbedrag komt dus uit op 10.000 euro.
