Marko haalt uit naar Wolff: "Jammer dat hij politieke spelletjes speelde"

Mick Schumacher fungeert dit seizoen als reservecoureur van het team van Mercedes. De Duitser kreeg vorig jaar geen nieuw contract bij Haas en trok daarna naar Mercedes. Mercedes-teambaas Toto Wolff probeert Schumacher een racezitje te bezorgen, maar Helmut Marko zit daar niet bepaald op te wachten.

Wolff sprak zich in de afgelopen maanden zeer positief uit over Schumacher. De Duitse coureur rijdt veel meters op de simulator en mocht in Spanje een dag van de de bandentest voor zijn rekening nemen. Wolff was onder de indruk van de prestaties van Schumacher en probeert hem dan ook een zitje te geven bij een ander team. Zo probeerde hij hem eerder aan de man te brengen bij Williams.

Politieke spelletjes

Volgens Sport1 heeft Wolff gesproken met Red Bull-kopstuk Oliver Mintzlaff over een mogelijk zitje voor Schumacher bij vermoedelijk AlphaTauri. Red Bull-adviseur Helmut Marko zit hier echter niet op te wachten. Marko ontkent de verhalen niet in gesprek met Sport1: "Dat kwam inderdaad naar voren tijdens een meeting. Het is jammer dat meneer Wolff op datzelfde moment politieke spelletjes met de FIA aan het spelen was tegen ons. Toen hebben we dat onderwerp gelijk van tafel geveegd."

Verantwoordelijkheid

Marko geeft aan dat hij ook helemaal niet zit te wachten op de komst van Schumacher. Volgens de Oostenrijker heeft Red Bull helemaal geen coureur zoals Schumacher nodig. Hij is duidelijk: "Waarom zouden wij Schumacher uitkiezen? Hij is een Mercedes-coureur, meneer Wolff moet de verantwoordelijkheid voor hem nemen. Als hij zoveel aan Schumacher moet denken, waarom laat hij hem dan niet rijden voor een klantenteam zoals Williams?"

    Dus als ik het goed begrijp heeft Wolff achter Marko's rug om de baas van Marko benaderd omwille van Schumacher? Dan snap ik best dat Marko zo reageert.

      Hij promoot m naar een ander team. Schumacher icm budgetcap... Sluwe tactiek om een tegenstander op achterstand te zetten 😁

      Hou ik wel van - beeldspraak - hoewel je daar soms ""ongebruikelijke" reacties op krijgt . . .Dat Toto zijn neus zowat overal in zit is gekend. Enkel zint Marko het niet dat Toto in het potje van AT zit te graaien. Hij beschouwt dat als achter de rug om. In zijn plaats zou hij niet anders doen en Marko Pot Wolff de Ketel. 😉

      Hahah dus als marko iets zegt en wolf ontkent het dan geloof jij automatisch toto.
      Nu zijn ze allebij niet vies van politieke spelletjes zijn liegt marko zo goed als nooit en toto met regelmaat van de klok. Je kan het totaal oneens zijn met de mening van marko maar als hij zegt dat iets wel of niet gebeurt
      is kan ik mij niet herinneren dat hij ooit

    Ik durf te wedden dat oom Ralf Schumacher en Toto Wolff alles zullen proberen om Red Bull en Alpha Tauri op de een of andere manier probeert een loer te draaien , Toto Wolff is een Oostenrijker en uit op totale heerschappij bij de FIA , we hebben nog eens een Oostenrijker gehad die uit was op totale heerschappij , en laat nu toch de familie van die illustere Oostenrijker na de tweede wereldoorlog hun naam hebben laten veranderen in Wollf , wat ook de troetelnaam was van de Duitse herder die altijd naast hem liep . Ik geloof niet in complottheorieën maar het is wel vreemd
