Bottas geschrapt uit uitslag Britse kwalificatie

Het eerste gedeelte van de kwalificatie op het circuit van Silverstone werd gekenmerkt door stilvallende coureurs. Eerst moest Kevin Magnussen zijn Haas naast de baan parkeren en daarna overkwam Alfa Romeo-coureur Valtteri Bottas hetzelfde. Het moment kreeg een pijnlijk staartje voor de Fin.

Alfa Romeo kon namelijk niet de verplichte brandstofsample afleveren na afloop van de kwalificatie. Aangezien de teams verplicht zijn een sample aan de FIA te overhandigen, moest Alfa Romeo zich bij de stewards melden. Die waren daarna zeer streng en Bottas werd gediskwalificeerd. Hij mag van de stewards wel gaan deelnemen aan de race, maar zal dus vanaf de laatste startplaats of vanuit de pitlane aan de race beginnen.
