Verstappen hoopt op probleemloze race: "Focussen op goed resultaat"

Max Verstappen gaat vandaag op jacht naar de zege op het circuit van Silverstone. De Nederlandse Red Bull Racing-coureur start de Grand Prix vanaf de pole position en geldt dus als de grote favoriet. Verstappen zelf focust zich vooral op een goed resultaat in de aanstaande race.

Verstappen hield gisteren zijn hoofd koel in de hectische kwalificatie op het iconische Britse circuit. De Nederlander zag dat zijn concurrenten, waaronder teamgenoot Sergio Perez, het lastiger hadden in de kwalificatie. Tijdens de build-up en de traditionele drivers parade was Verstappen dan ook de rust zelve. Hij genoot van de sfeer en zwaaide op rustige wijze naar de aanwezige wens.

Verstappen, die gezellig zag te babbelen met de bestuurder van de klassieke wagen waarin hij zat, wilde zeker niet te vroeg gaan juichen. Tijdens de build-up sprak hij zich hierover uit. Verstappen was er duidelijk over: "Ik wil lol hebben. Hopelijk hebben we straks een goede en een probleemloze race. De auto is al het hele weekend heel erg goed, dus laten we voor een goede race gaan. Dat zou trouwens echt fantastisch zijn. We moeten ons vooral gaan focussen op een goed resultaat hier."
