Perez tikkeltje ontevreden na kwalificatie: "Jammer dat ik Leclerc niet versloeg"

Sergio Pérez staat sinds Miami weer op de eerste startrij. In de kwalificatie voor de Grand Prix van België eindigde de Red Bull-coureur als derde, maar door een gridstraf voor teamgenoot Max Verstappen schuift de Mexicaan een plekje op.

"Een verraderlijke kwalificatie", begon Pérez over de natte sessie op Spa-Francorchamps. "Het was erg listig op de intermediates. De weersomstandigheden waren lastig."

Pérez had verwacht dat de baan sneller zou opdragen, maar dat gebeurde niet echt. "Tot het end in Q3 was het nog steeds verraderlijk op sommige plekken zoals in Les Combes."

De Mexicaan zat enige tijd in een vormdip op de zaterdag, maar scoorde vandaag weer een goed resultaat. Toch was de Red Bull-rijder een tikkeltje teleurgesteld:

"Het is een beetje jammer dat ik Leclerc niet kon verslaan. Maar in deze condities was het een goede sessie", sloot Pérez tevreden af.
