Viscaal keert eenmalig terug in ELMS

Bent Viscaal presteert dit jaar zeer sterk in zijn eerste volledige seizoen in het World Endurance Championship. De Nederlander reed vorig jaar nog in de European Le Mans Series (ELMS) en ook daar maakte hij een sterke indruk. Later deze maand keert hij eenmalig terug in deze klasse.

Viscaal zal namelijk tijdens de 4 uur van Aragón eenmalig invallen bij zijn voormalige werkgever Algarve Pro Racing. Bij het team van Stewart Cox zal Viscaal de plaats van vaste rijder Jack Hawksworth innemen, hij heeft namelijk IMSA-verplichtingen in hetzelfde weekend. Viscaal zal de LMP2-bolide gaan delen met bronzen rijder Fred Poordad en de ervaren Tristan Vautier.

Viscaal zal op 26 augustus in actie gaan komen op het Spaanse circuit van Aragón in Alcaniz. De coureur is teameigenaar Cox en diens vrouw Samantha Cox dankbaar voor de kans die ze hem hebben gegeven. Viscaal. die recent al heeft getest voor het team kijkt ernaar uit: "Vorig jaar kwamen de resultaten niet overeen met de snelheid, op de tweede plaats in Paul Ricard na. We hebben veel pech gehad en het voelt alsof er nog unfinished business is. Voor de wedstrijd in Aragón maak ik onderdeel uit van een Pro/Am-rijdersbezetting, waarbij Poordad de bronzen rijder is en ik met Vautier een oude bekende tegenkom. Pro/Am brengt een interessante dynamiek met zich mee en Fred komt over als een leergierige coureur."
