De Vries staat FRECA-coureur bij: "Fijn dat Nyck er is"

Sinds zijn ontslag bij het team van AlphaTauri zit Nyck de Vries zeker niet stil. De Friese coureur blijft in training en is al in beeld bij meerdere teams in verschillende klassen. Daarnaast maakte hij recent bekend dat hij ook weer de schoolbanken ingaat. Nu blijkt dat hij de jonge coureur Laurens van Hoepen helpt met diens loopbaan.

De Vries had de verwachting dit jaar de verwachting dat hij een volledig seizoen in de Formule 1 zou rijden. De Nederlander was echter bezig met een teleurstellende reeks waardoor hij onder grote druk kwam te staan. Vanuit de Red Bull-top klink veel kritiek en voorafgaand de Hongaarse Grand Prix werd hij dan ook ontslagen en vervangen door Daniel Ricciardo. De Vries startte daarna een radiostilte, maar hij heeft nog genoeg taken die hem bezighouden.

Nu blijkt namelijk dat hij zit ook inzet voor jonge autocoureurs. Hij staat bijvoorbeeld ook FRECA-coureur Laurens van Hoepen bij. Van Hoepen onthult in gesprek met Formula Scout dat De Vries aanwezig was tijdens het FRECA-weekend op het circuit van Paul Ricard: "Het is heel erg fijn om Nyck hier te hebben. Hij heeft ontzettend veel ervaring, dus ik kan veel leren van zijn input. Hij zegt niets over de boordradio, maar hij kan horen wat wij zeggen en hij kan daar weer op reageren."
