Viscaal kijkt uit naar ELMS-comeback: "Het heeft een soort Le Mans-gevoel"

Aankomend weekend wordt er niet alleen in Zandvoort geracet, maar ook in Spanje. Op het circuit van Aragón wordt de 4 uur van Aragón afgewerkt in de European Le Mans Series. Nederlander Bent Viscaal maakt een eenmalige comeback in deze klasse bij het team van Pro Algarve Racing en hij wil voor het best mogelijke resultaat gaan.

Viscaal rijdt dit seizoen in het WEC voor het LMP2-team van Prema, maar valt dit weekend eenmalig in bij het ELMS-team van Pro Algarve Racing. Vorig seizoen reed hij in de European Le Mans Series voor deze renstal waardoor alles voor hem bekend terrein is. Hij vervangt dit weekend Jack Hawksworth en deelt zijn auto met Tristan Vautier en de Amerikaanse amateurcoureur Fred Poordad.

De race wordt zaterdagavond verreden en Viscaal kan haast niet wachten om weer achter het stuur te kruipen. De Nederlander is opgetogen in zijn vooruitblik: "Ik kan niet wachten om weer te gaan racen. De WEC-zomerstop duurt wel erg lang en het komt dus bijzonder goed uit dat Algarve Pro Racing een invaller zocht. Er wordt zaterdagavond gestart, wat betekent dat we een groot gedeelte van de race in het donker rijden. Het heeft dus een soort Le Mans-gevoel en dat vind ik een leuke uitdaging."
