Horner maakt zich niet druk om regen: "Overal dezelfde shit"

Max Verstappen rijdt dit weekend zijn thuisrace op het circuit van Zandvoort. De tribunes zitten elke dag propvol met fans die vooral voor hem komen. De druk is dan ook groot, maar daar lijkt hij helemaal geen last van te hebben. Red Bull Racing-teambaas Christian Horner ziet dat Verstappen kalm blijft.

Verstappen kan dit weekend voor het derde jaar op rij zegenvieren op het circuit van Zandvoort. De Nederlandse regerend wereldkampioen geldt als de grote favoriet voor de zege, maar hij weet ook dat helemaal niets zeker is. Op de regenachtige zaterdag zal hij ook te maken gaan krijgen met de onvoorspelbaarheid van het weer en collega-coureurs die beter voor de dag komen dan gebruikelijk.

Extra druk

Red Bull-teambaas Christian Horner ziet dat Verstappen zich simpelweg niet druk maakt om de huidige situatie. Horner is enorm trots op zijn stercoureur en spreekt zich erover uit bij Viaplay: "Hij zal de extra druk zeker ergens wel voelen, maar hij gaat daar zo enorm goed mee om. Nu is er door de weersverwachtingen wel wat meer druk, maar zo is het nou eenmaal. We gaan daar gewoon mee werken."

Weer

Over het weer maakt Horner zich niet zo druk. De Brit ziet dat het al meerdere raceweekenden heeft geregend en dat Verstappen zich daar niet aan stoort. Hij wil ook niet van specifiek Nederlands of specifiek Brits weer spreken voor de Viaplay-camera: "We zijn maar honderd mijl verwijderd van het Britse eiland! Dus weet je, ik zou zeggen dat het gewoon dezelfde shit is!"
