Leclerc kan leven met derde tijd: "Kan mij niet beter voelen"

Het team van Ferrari kende een zeer sterke kwalificatie op het thuiscircuit van Monza. Carlos Sainz greep de pole position en zijn teamgenoot Charles Leclerc noteerde de derde tijd. Leclerc had het graag beter gedaan, maar de derde tijd in Monza bezorgde hem ook een grote glimlach.

Leclerc gold voorafgaand het weekend als de grote uitdager van Max Verstappen. De Monegaskische Ferrari-coureur pakte eerder al in Azerbeidzjan pole en is tot nu toe de enige Ferrari-coureur die dit seizoen op het podium heeft gestaan. Toch was het dus zijn teamgenoot Carlos Sainz die er met de snelste tijd vandoor ging. Bij Leclerc was er geen teleurstelling zichtbaar toen hij naar de Tifosi wuifde.

Na afloop van de kwalificatie meldde Leclerc zich op het rechte stuk, maar eerst kreeg hij zijn moment van respect van de aanwezige fans. Bijna onverstaanbaar begon hij zijn gesprek met interviewer van dienst Davide Valsecchi: "Ik kan mij nu niet beter voelen met de Tifosi hier. Ik ben natuurlijk wel een beetje teleurgesteld, want ik wilde zelf natuurlijk de snelste tijd neerzetten. Maar het feit dat Carlos de snelste tijd rijdt is natuurlijk geweldig voor Ferrari. Hij presteert het hele weekend al geweldig. Ik kreeg hier alles voor elkaar dus ik ben heel erg blij."

Had er wel moeite mee om Sainz te feliciteren. Sainz moest zelf naar hem toe gaan.

  Hij hoeft niet enthousiast te zijn maar heb het fatsoen om naar hem toe te te gaan. Tenminste dat vind ik. Het was gewoon een knappe prestatie van Carlos.
  Ik vond het wel gaaf dat twee ex teamgenoten en Perez voor Hamilton staan. Ook zijn eigen ,eenmalige GP winnaar, teamgenoot staat voor die sufferd.

  Jochebed, de moeder van Mozes, verstopt haar zoon in huis. Ze kan hem daar niet lang verborgen houden, daarom pakt ze een rieten mand, maakt het waterdicht en legt haar kindje erin. De mand zet ze in de rivier de Nijl tussen het riet. De dochter van de Farao vindt het kindje.

Was het strategie van Ferrari? Sainz met een betere afstelling voor de kwalificatie en Leclerc voor de race.
Of eigen, afzonderlijke keuzes van de coureurs?
