Hülkenberg prijst Verstappen: "Het is fenomenaal"

Max Verstappen maakt dit jaar veel indruk in de Formule 1. De Nederlandse Red Bull Racing-coureur is hard op weg naar zijn derde wereldtitel op rij en hij presteert vrijwel elk weekend zeer sterk. Ook zijn collega's zijn onder de indruk. Haas-coureur Nico Hülkenberg omschrijft  de prestaties van Verstappen als 'fenomenaal'.

Verstappen heeft dit seizoen al meerdere grote records verbroken. Afgelopen weekend in Monza was het weer zover. De Nederlander pakte daar het record van de meeste Grand Prix-zeges op rij. In Zandvoort evenaarde hij dit record en afgelopen weekend zette hij het op tien zeges op rij. Verstappen ontving louter applaus van kenners en oud-coureurs, ook zijn huidige rivalen zijn enorm onder de indruk.

Haas-coureur Nico Hülkenberg kan het goed vinden met Verstappen. De Duitser heeft dan ook veel complimenten klaarliggen voor Verstappen. In de podcast Beyond the Grid spreekt Hülkenberg zich lovend uit: "Het is echt fenomenaal. Hij levert gewoon overal, het maakt simpelweg niet ui wat de omstandigheden zijn op de circuits. Het maakt voor hem niet uit wat voor circuit het is, of het regent, of het sneeuwt of dat het veertig graden Celsius is. Hij staat er gewoon altijd. Max domineert dit jaar, je kan het niet op een andere manier zeggen."

      Je bedoelt, dit is dus het verschil met de andere tien die ook in die RB19 kunnen winnen.....? Verstappen had het hierbij over winnen en niet over kampioen worden.

      Ze zijn teamgenoten geweest bij Force India, Hulkenberg was niet beter dan Perez. Daarnaast wist Perez drie seizoenen op rij een keer op het podium te komen, Hulkenberg nooit.

      @Mats: dat mogen dan wel de cijfermatige feiten zijn, maar ik heb toch ook sterk de indruk dat Hülkenberg beter had gepresteerd naast Verstappen dan Pérez doet.

      Mede omdat hij, in mijn optiek, een betere coureur is qua flexibiliteit in rijstijl en dat hij zich minder laat opnaaien door de buitenwereld die verwacht dat hij dan wel even kampioen zal worden. Bij Pérez is de hoop van heel Mexico (en van zijn vader) op hem gevestigd, waardoor hij nooit kan accepteren dat hij slechts tweede coureur is. Die druk heeft veel impact op hem. Bij Hülkenberg speelt dat allemaal niet.

      @Patrace:

      Cijfermatige feiten zijn wel wat belangrijker dan jouw gevoel als je twee coureurs met hetzelfde materiaalkeuze vergelijkt.
      Hulkenberg heeft zelf een aantal keer het podium weggegooid, dus hoe goed hij met de druk van een topteam om kan gaan is zeer twijfelachtig.

      @Mats: De druk om Q3 te halen met een auto die op de eerste startrij hoort, was vaak al te hoog voor Sergio. Gewogen en te licht bevonden, maar goed genoeg voor het constructeurskampioenschap naast Max.

    Om naar te kijken vond ik 2015 tot 2020 leuker,dat je echt nog los ging bij een podium,of goed resultaat in de rosso.nu ben je al ´kwaad´ als hij niet wint.

    Max en zijn trainer Bradly zijn gisteravond weer naar Nice gevlogen en hebben vanmorgen een partijtje padel gespeeld.
    Heb alleen deze foto kunnen vinden waarop Russell, Lando en Max te zien zijn.
    Albon is al in Thailand. Bradly heeft waarschijnlijk de foto genomen.

      Je kan nergens lezen hoe de cost cap breech tot stand is gekomen in een overzicht. Je kan nergens het detail verhaal lezen van crash gate. Of van Spy gate. Echte helemaal niemand schijnt te weten wie de grootste rol daarin heeft gespeeld.
      Of voor mij part de reden in detail waarom de grondeffect auto's zijn verboden na een paar jaar rond 1980.
      Of het verhaal van Brabham die techniek met tactiek en strategie combineerden.
      Er zijn echt zo veel achtergrond verhalen te schrijven dat het duizelt.

      Mods bepalen niet wat er wordt geplaatst, Roy. Er zijn hier niet eens mods. R e d a c t e u r e n plaatsen.

      Daarbij, als je zo een verhaal wil schrijven, dan komt daar wel wat meer bij kijken dan alleen even op wiki kijken voor wat stats. Daar gaat een gedegen onderzoek aan vooraf.
