Vettel geniet van successen Verstappen en Red Bull

Het team van Red Bull Racing is momenteel oppermachtig in de Formule 1. De Oostenrijkse renstal heeft tot nu toe alle Grands Prix in het huidige seizoen gewonnen. Ook Sebastian Vettel is onder de indruk van de prestaties van Red Bull. Hij heeft veel respect voor deze successen en hij geeft toe dat hij nog steeds contact heeft met mensen van Red Bull.

Vettel voelde zich afgelopen weekend weer eventjes een Red Bull-coureur. De Duitse viervoudig wereldkampioen mocht namelijk één van zijn succesbolides besturen tijdens een bijzondere demorun op de Nürburgring Nordschleife. Vettel reed een aantal rondjes en hij zorgde voor kippenvel bij de aanwezige fans. Vettel geniet momenteel van zijn pensioen, maar hij wordt wel voortdurend in verband gebracht met een comeback.

Respect

Vettel zelf genoot vooral van zijn rondjes in zijn titelwinnende Red Bull-bolide. Hij ziet dat Red Bull nu met Max Verstappen domineert in de Formule 1. In gesprek met Sportschau is Vettel vol lof: "Je kan hier alleen maar respect voor hebben. De performance van het hele team, en dan vooral van Max, is echt geweldig. Ze laten steeds weer zien hoe groot hun voorsprong op de concurrentie is. Je moet deze successen erkennen en je moet toegeven dat het geweldig is."

Contact

Vettel was zelf ook succesvol in dienst van zijn jeugdliefde Red Bull. Hij werd in dienst van Red Bull wereldkampioen van 2010 tot en met 2013. Hij geeft dan ook eerlijk toe dat hij nog veel contact heeft met zijn oude Red Bull-vrienden: "We wisselen nog steeds soms wat informatie uit. De jongens zijn veel onderweg, maar ik ken ze allemaal nog. Ik heb contact met ze, regelmatig via de telefoon. Ik ben dus nog steeds betrokken bij ze."
