Oppermachtige Verstappen maakt indruk: "Hij leek wel een straaljagerpiloot"

Max Verstappen is hard op weg naar zijn derde wereldtitel op rij in de Formule 1. De Nederlandse Red Bull Racing-coureur maakt veel indruk, ook afgelopen weekend in Japan heerste hij. Flavio Briatore was enorm onder de indruk van de prestaties van Verstappen, hij omschrijft hem als een straaljagerpiloot.

Verstappen won de Japanse Grand Prix van afgelopen weekend met veel overmacht. De Nederlander was de snelste coureur in alle sessies en hij bezorgde zijn team Red Bull de constructeurstitel door te winnen in Japan. Verstappen kan zelf over anderhalve week zijn titel prolongeren in Qatar. Zijn oppermachtige zegetocht in Suzuka blijft echter veel indruk maken bij mensen uit de Formule 1-wereld.

Buitengewoon

Ook voormalig Renault-teambaas Flavio Briatore wist niet wat hij zag. De flamboyante Italiaan is nog steeds onder de indruk en hij deelt zijn complimenten met zijn landgenoten van Il Riformista: "Op Suzuka had hij een voorsprong van meerdere seconden op de rest. Hij deed ook een aantal geweldige dingen. Er was niet eens een duel. Hij was enorm sterk in de kwalificatie, maar in de race liet hij al helemaal buitengewone dingen zien."

Straaljagerpiloot

Verstappen hield de leidende positie vast bij de start en daarna kwam niemand meer in de buurt. Briatore wist niet wat hij zag, hij geeft aan enorm onder de indruk te zijn van de prestaties van Verstappen: "Als je ziet wat er achter hem aan de hand was, dan was wat Verstappen deed echt ongelooflijk. Hij reed ook rond met een belachelijk hoge snelheid, vooral in het eerste gedeelte van het circuit. Hij kreeg te maken met 6g, hij reed als een straaljagerpiloot door die bochten."

Flavio: "Hij was enorm sterk in de kwalificatie, maar in de race liet hij al helemaal buitengewone dingen zien"

Max pakte bij de start de leiding en gaf hem vervolgens niet meer af......en dat is volgens Flavio zeeeeeeer bijzonder.

Kom op Flavio, dat doet Max bijna het hele seizoen al.....dus bijzonder is het dus niet.

Kijk de onboard beelden maar.het mooie is hoe kalm hij blijft met die snelheid.het eerste gedeelte is ook echt een ´rijders deel´.en dan krijg je dit.simply the best.
