Verstappen verklapt geheim: "Dat werkt goed voor mij"

Max Verstappen is momenteel bezig met een historisch sterk seizoen in de Formule 1. De Nederlander heeft nog maar drie races niet gewonnen en zijn derde wereldtitel op rij is bijna een feit. Verstappen weet zelf wel waarom het zo goed gaat, hij wijst hierbij naar zijn ontspannen aanpak.

De Nederlandse Red Bull Racing-coureur is dit seizoen oppermachtig in de Formule 1. Hij maakt regelmatig een enorm relaxte indruk. Hij maakt regelmatig geintjes over de boordradio, hij reageert gevat tijdens de persconferenties en eerder dit jaar hoorde hij via de boordradio zelfs dat Helmut Marko werd gebeld. Deze relaxte houding zorgt voor veel verbazing, maar volgens Verstappen is dit meer dan normaal.

Ontspannen

Zijn ontspannen aanpak is volgens Verstappen enorm belangrijk. De Nederlander is van mening dat dit hem helpt in zijn jacht op succes. In de Red Bull-podcast Mind Set Win spreekt Verstappen zich uit: "Ik doe veel dingen zelf. Ik houd er niet van om dingen moeilijker te maken dan dat ze zijn en ik houd er ook niet van om te veel over dingen na te denken. Dat werkt voor mij echt heel erg goed."

Niet alles

Verstappen is daarnaast ook van mening dat hij door deze aanpak zijn team goed kan helpen. Verstappen stelt dat ze hier veel aan hebben. Hij legt zijn redenatie uit: "Ik kan wel uren op de baan blijven, maar dat helpt niet. De Formule 1 is inderdaad een groot gedeelte van mijn leven, maar het is niet alles. Ik weet ook wanneer de knop weer om moet en ik weet ook wanneer ik de knop weer uit moet zetten."
