Sprintcrash heeft gevolgen voor Perez: pitlane-start dreigt

Sergio Perez werd gisteren uit de sprintrace getikt door Esteban Ocon. De Red Bull-bolide van Perez raakte bij deze crash zwaar beschadigd. De monteurs van Red Bull Racing hebben hard doorgewerkt, maar ze hebben hierbij mogelijk de regels overschreden. Dit kan resulteren in een pitlane-start voor Perez.

Uit de documenten van de FIA blijkt namelijk dat Red Bull de bolide van Perez iets te enthousiast heeft opgelapt. Volgens de FIA raakte het chassis van Perez zwaar beschadigd waardoor deze niet meer te repareren is. Maar, Red Bull is niet op de juiste wijze aan de reparatie begonnen. Ze hebben dezelfde fout gemaakt als het team van Williams in Japan, daar werd er ook een 'derde auto' gebouwd. Als de stewards meegaan in deze redenatie, moet Perez de race vanuit de pitlane starten.
