Verstappen dankt familie: "Ze hebben mij altijd gepusht"

Max Verstappen pakte anderhalve week geleden in Qatar zijn derde wereldtitel in de Formule 1. De Nederlandse Red Bull Racing-coureur is bezig met een oppermachtig seizoen waarin hij bijna alles heeft gewonnen. Hij is trots, maar hij is ook dankbaar. Hij bedankt vooral zijn familie voor hun steun.

Verstappens titelprolongatie in Qatar was voor vrijwel niemand een verrassing. De Nederlander is bezig met een extreem sterk seizoen waarin hij al snel een grote voorsprong op zijn concurrenten pakte. Verstappens titel kwam dan ook op geen enkel moment echt in gevaar. Zijn derde wereldtitel zorgde wel voor heel veel vreugde bij Verstappen, zijn team en zeker ook bij zijn familieleden. Na afloop sprong hij zijn vader Jos in de armen.

Momenten delen

Verstappen is zijn familie enorm dankbaar. De Red Bull-coureur heeft dat nooit onder stoelen of banken gestoken, maar hij deelt nu zijn lof. In een interview met de media-afdeling van de Formule 1 legt hij trots uit wat zijn familie voor hem betekent: "Ze hebben heel veel bijgedragen aan wie ik vandaag de dag ben. Ze hebben altijd geprobeerd om mij echt naar de top te pushen. Het is heel fijn om dit soort momenten samen te kunnen delen."

Moeder

Niet al zijn dierbaren waren in Qatar aanwezig om Verstappens titel te vieren. Dat betekent echter niet dat hij geen steun van ze ontvangt. Verstappen legt het uit: "Gelukkig kon ik heel snel na mijn race met mijn moeder facetimen. Ik kon al zien dat ze aan de champagne zat! Dat was goed om te zien, ze is heel erg trots. Ze is elke race heel erg nerveus, maar ze snapt mij heel goed. Ze was zelf ook een racer. Ze kan zich dus heel goed in de situatie inleven."

Klopt, als er iemand achter het succes staat van Max is het zijn familie wel.

Pa Jos heeft er flink achteraan gezeten om Max veel dingen te leren......ja, zelfs af en toe achter te laten bij 'n tankstation dacht ik.

Klopt, als er iemand achter het succes staat van Max is het zijn familie wel.

Pa Jos heeft er flink achteraan gezeten om Max veel dingen te leren......ja, zelfs af en toe achter te laten bij 'n tankstation dacht ik.

En als je dan terugkijkt als trotse vader zijn de kan je maar een ding concluderen....ik heb het goed gedaan.

Iemand pushen is nooit leuk,kijk maar naar spoiled kid Stroll,maar mijn buurvrouw daarentegen heb ik wel een keertje gedouwd en dat was best aangenaam.
Inmiddels ben ik verhuisd helaas.....

  Stroll jr is nooit gepushed. Pappie trok tot in het etreme telkens de portemonnee om alles voor het joch te regelen, dat wel, maar nooit is hem enige mentaliteit of hardheid aangeleerd...

  Heb bij Stroll wel eens het idee dat hij juist het speeltje van zijn pa is, zo ongeïnteresseerd, sloom en ongemotiveerd komt hij over.
  Dat Lance gedwongen wordt om voor pa's plezier te racen en ook nog eens zijn best moet doen of anders wordt hij onterfd...
