Lof voor Verstappen: "Dankzij hem wordt de auto nog beter"

Max Verstappen heeft zijn team Red Bull Racing dit seizoen een aantal grote successen bezorgd. De Nederlandse coureur won zelf de wereldtitel en hij schonk in Japan Red Bull de constructeurstitel. Volgens Pierre Waché is Verstappen enorm belangrijk voor de ontwikkeling van de succesbolide van het team.

Red Bull en Verstappen zijn dit seizoen bijna onverslaanbaar in de Formule 1. De Nederlander won slechts drie Grands Prix niet en in twee van die races werd hij verslagen door zijn Red Bull-teamgenoot Sergio Perez. De verschillen met de concurrentie waren zeer groot en Verstappen liet meermaals zien dat hij simpel weg kon rijden bij de rest van het veld. Het was dan ook geen verrassing toen hij al in Qatar zijn wereldtitel claimde.

Bij Red Bull is men extreem blij met de huidige prestaties van Verstappen. Ook technisch directeur Pierre Waché is uitermate trots op de huidige successen. Volgens Waché worden deze successen deels veroorzaakt door Verstappen, hij legt dit uit aan De Telegraaf: "Max duwt ons de goede richting op, ik vind hem echt een geweldige gast. Hij is zonder twijfel de beste coureur van het moment. De auto is inderdaad goed, maar hij is ook in staat om er alles uit te persen. Dankzij hem wordt de auto gewoon nog beter omdat hij heel goede feedback geeft."

    Ik dacht dat Pierre Waché 'n tijdje geleden Max al volgestopt had met veren.....de jonge coureur liep daarna zo krom als 'n hoepel en heeft meerdere dagen niet kunnen kakken.

      Was dat niet toen hij die wagen tijdens de opwarm ronde in de muur reed, en ze nog op de grid zijn wagen moesten fixen, omdat hij geconstipeerd rondreed ?

    Ik weet niet wat aan de hand is, maar Max krijgt vanuit alle hoeken complimenten, zelfs van de Britse media, maar voornamelijk van (oud)coureurs en anderen actief binnen de gemotoriseerde sport.
    Het moet niet gekker worden. Straks gaat een Buxton of een SennaS nog roepen dat Max speciaal is…..
