Stroll wil niets meer zeggen over duwincident

Lance Stroll zorgde twee weken geleden in Qatar voor de nodige opschudding. De Canadese coureur duwde zijn trainer aan de kant en hij gaf een zeer kort interview. Hij ontving een waarschuwing van de FIA en op het Circuit of the Americas wil Stroll er niet te veel meer over zeggen.

Stroll raakte in Qatar in opspraak omdat hij na zijn teleurstellende kwalificatie zijn trainer aan de kant duwde. De FIA opende een onderzoek naar de Canadees en ze besloten hem uiteindelijk een waarschuwing te geven. Men vroeg zich af of Stroll het nog wel naar zijn zin had in de Formule 1. In gesprek met de internationale media werd Stroll daar naar gevraagd en wordt er ook aan hem gevraagd of alles tussen hem en zijn trainer weer koek en ei is: "Ja en ja."

Stroll wilde dus niet te veel zeggen over zijn opvallende acties in Qatar. Het raceweekend op het circuit van Losail eindigde voor hem overigens op een pijnlijke wijze. Hij kon amper zelfstandig uit de auto klimmen en hij zocht hulp bij een ambulance. Stroll wil daar iets over zeggen: "Het duurde wel een paar dagen voordat ik mij weer voor honderd procent fit voelde. Mijn billen stonden de gehele race in brand, maar ik denk dat dit voor iedereen gold."

      Zo is dat. En als je een van de betere coureurs als teammaat hebt, en je wilt je daarmee vergelijken dan kan dat soms best wel vervelend zijn. Vraag maar aan Perez.

      En het ging het ook alweer in die 2 jaar dat Perez en Stroll teamgenoten van elkaar waren? Oh wacht, toen was Perez ook gewoon ruim de betere over 2 seizoenen.

      Stroll is nog nooit sneller geweest dan een teamgenoot.

      Maar de Perez van toen is niet te vergelijken met de Perez van nu. Er is een verschil dat je sneller bent als je teammaat, of als je elk weekend achter je teammaat rijd en deze kampioen ziet worden.
