Verstappen grijnst: "Dan hebben we vandaag weer een goede race"

Max Verstappen gaat straks vanaf de zesde startplek op jacht naar een goed resultaat in de Amerikaanse Grand Prix. Na zijn succesvolle sprintrace, geldt hij als de grote favoriet voor de zege in de race. Verstappen heeft veel zin in de race en hij hoopt op een sterke dag.

Max Verstappen veegde gisteren de grond aan met zijn concurrenten in de sprintrace. De Nederlander was veel sneller dan de rest en dat zorgde voor zorgen over de race van vandaag. Zijn tegenstanders verwachten namelijk dat Verstappen binnen een paar rondjes weer op kop ligt. Of dat echt gaat gebeuren, zal straks blijken. Voorafgaand de race was Verstappen in ieder geval net zo rustig als altijd het geval is.

Al zwaaiend naar de fans meldde Verstappen zich tijdens de build-up bij de microfoon van F1 TV-interviewer Will Buxton. Met zijn gezicht in het doorbrekende zonnetje keek Verstappen in gesprek met Buxton vooruit op de Grand Prix: "Ik heb er erg veel zin in. Ik denk dat we gisteren een geweldige dag hadden. Natuurlijk moeten we vandaag veel verder naar achteren starten, maar als we de racepace van gisteren nu kunnen kopiëren, dan hebben we vandaag ook een goede race."
