Ricciardo mikt in Mexico op Q3 in kwalificatie

Daniel Ricciardo is het Grand Prix-weekend In Mexico sterk van start gegaan met een achtste en zesde plek in de eerste twee vrije trainingen. De Australiër denkt zelfs Q3 te kunnen bereiken tijdens de kwalificatie later op de dag.

"Sinds de race in Austin heb ik honger om door te gaan en weer in de auto te stappen", begon de achtvoudig Grand Prix-winnaar op de officiële website van AlphaTauri. "Na de race van vorige week ontdekten we een aantal dingen waardoor ik wilde bewijzen dat we snelheid hebben. Vandaag was een hele goede dag. Ik geniet van deze plek en de auto was solide. Vanaf het begin voelde ik me zeker op mijn gemak, en omdat het geen sprintweekend is, hebben we meer tijd om wat dingen te proberen."

"We bleven ons best doen en boekten goede vooruitgang met onze setup, en het lijkt erop dat we ons op een goede plek bevinden, dus ik heb er vertrouwen in dat we deze prestatie naar zaterdag kunnen doorzetten. Het veld ligt dichtbij elkaar en je weet nooit wat andere teams precies doen, maar ik weet dat wat ik vandaag in de auto voelde goed was, en ik geloof dat het zaterdag een top 10-auto is", sloot Ricciardo strijdvaardig af.

Zo jammer dat Yuki achteraan moet starten in de race. Hij zal denk ik in de kwalificatie niet laten zien waartoe hij in staat is met zijn AT04. :-((
