Haas wil Fittipaldi niet kwijtraken en kijkt naar oplossingen

Eerder deze week werd bekend dat Haas-reservecoureur Pietro Fittipaldi volgend seizoen gaat rijden in de IndyCar. Het is nog niet duidelijk wat dit betekent voor zijn toekomst bij het team van Haas. Teambaas Günther Steiner denkt niet dat ze Fittipaldi helemaal kwijt zijn.

Fittipaldi maakte deze week bekend dat hij vanaf volgend seizoen gaat rijden voor het team van Rahal Letterman Lanigan in de IndyCar. De Braziliaan zal daardoor minder tijd gaan hebben voor het team van Haas. Dat is een probleem voor de Amerikaanse renstal, want Fittipaldi is de enige reservecoureur van het team. Haas werkt wel nog veel samen met Ferrari, dit weekend werkte Oliver Bearman immers de eerste vrije training af voor het team.

Haas-teambaas Günther Steiner laat in Mexico weten dat ze Fittipaldi niet helemaal willen kwijtraken. De Italiaan laat aan Autosport weten dat er een oplossing wordt gezocht: "We moeten hier eventjes naar gaan kijken. Ik heb al met Frédéric Vasseur gesproken over wat ze daar gaan doen met reservecoureurs volgend jaar. We hebben nog geen knopen door gehakt. Ik denk trouwens niet dat we Pietro helemaal kwijt zijn. We kijken naar wat mogelijk is en wat niet kan. We kennen de twee kalenders en we hebben er vandaag over gesproken."

Hij heeft volgend jaar geen superlicentie meer toch (3 jaar na zn laaste gp)

Daarnaast lijkt t me als racecoureur niks om er elk weekend bij te staan als Mick schumacher... dan maar racen in Indycar waar wat te doen is.
