Ralf Schumacher kritisch op Norris: "Hij doet mij denken aan Leclerc"

Lando Norris is bezig met een succesvolle reeks in de Formule 1. In de tweede seizoenshelft heeft de Britse McLaren-coureur veel stappen gezet en hij staat regelmatig op het podium. Hij ontvangt veel complimenten, maar Ralf Schumacher is zeer kritisch. Hij is van mening dat Norris te veel fouten maakt.

Norris was afgelopen weekend de eerste uitdager van Max Verstappen in Brazilië. De Britse McLaren-coureur kende een tegenvallende kwalificatie, maar in de Sprint Shootout, de sprintrace en de Grand Prix schitterde hij. Norris begon de sprintrace op de pole position, maar hij werd in de eerste bocht al ingehaald door Max Verstappen. Ook in de Grand Prix kwam Norris als tweede over de streep. Ook hier werd hij verslagen door Verstappen.

Norris ontving veel complimenten voor zijn rijkunsten in Brazilië. Hij is bezig met een goede reeks, maar niet iedereen is lovend over de prestaties van de Brit. Oud-coureur Ralf Schumacher is in zijn column voor het Duitse Sky Sports nogal kritisch: "Lando Norris is uitgegroeid tot de eerste achtervolger van Verstappen. Hij maakt nog steeds te veel foutjes, vooral in de kwalificatie. Norris doet mij soms een beetje denken aan Charles Leclerc. Maar, Norris doet het wel geweldig in de race. Zijn grootste probleem is de kwalificatie. Hij wil dan te veel en dan maakt hij foutjes."

    Met alle respect, maar Lando maakt een hele sterke indruk dit jaar. Ik vind Lando juist veel sterker en stabieler overkomen dan Charles. Daarbij is het ook zo dat Lando over het algemeen Piastri (wat gewoon een groot talent is) best wel in zijn zak heeft zitten. Dat kun je van Leclerc t.o.v. Sainz niet bepaald zeggen.

    Ik ben het dus totaal niet eens met Ralf. Norris heeft alleen de pech dat de combinaties Verstappen/Red Bull zo absurd goed is, waardoor Norris vaak het zilver pakt. Het enige wat je dan kan doen is bekers kapot schoppen, en je best blijven doen!

      Ik vind maar vreemd dat de winnaar (vooral Max)een medaille krijgt en niet de nummers 2 en 3 (zilver,brons)

      @DH; ik denk dat Norris wat overschat wordt omdat veel mensen (naar mijn mening) Piastri eigenschappen toekent als 'talent van het jaar' en 'wereldkampioen van de toekomst' die ik eigenlijk niet zie. (maar ik ben dan ook slechts zelfbenoemd expert) Norris zou ook dat mega talent zijn en voor een mega talent in z'n 5e jaar F1 vind ik het toch onder de maat in 95% van de races. Ik heb genoten van z'n gevecht met Hamilton op Silverstone, maar dat was het dan ook wel, het is te wisselvallig. Dat Piastri hem af en toe de baas is zegt ook best veel, dat zou niet moeten kunnen. Vergelijk het dat er een megatalent wordt aangekondigd bij RBR en die gaat af en toe Verstappen kloppen in kwali en/of races. Ik zie het niet gebeuren, dus ik snap de vergelijking met Leclerc wel. Om Verstappen te verslaan moet je 100% foutloos zijn aangezien Verstappen geen off-days meer kent.

      Dat kan wel zijn maar ik vind hem goed werk afleveren bij SKY Duitsland, een aanwinst.

      Hij was ook beroerd de analist daar terecht te wijzen. Volgens de analist ging Norris als kat met de muis Verstappen spelen.
      Schumacher: Dan wel als in Tom en Jerry. Mede commentator. Dus de muis speelt? Schumacher: Ja.

      @Snailer; ja, dat heb ik ook gezien. Hilarisch moment. Net als de opmerking van Ralf in interview met Marko over beroep van Haas tav uitslag USA. 'Als ze die tijd nou besteden aan de auto in plaats van dit soort onzin...'

    Charles is mijn favoriete coureur van de huidige grid, maar Ralf is wel heel hard voor Norris. Lando is juist heel erg constant en weet vaak het maximale te halen en misschien zelfs meer als de McLaren eigenlijk vrij hopeloos was. Hij crasht zelden, sterke racepace op zondag. Af en toe een foutje tijdens de kwalificatie, maar dat zijn nou niet echt grote blunders.

    Van de nieuwe generatie is de huidige top 3 beste rijders 1. Max, 2. Lando, 3. Charles.

    Alleen wat McLaren nodig heeft is op de een of anderen manier meteen ook een sterke auto te hebben vanaf het begin van het jaar.

      Dat zal denk ik een moeilijk verhaal gaan worden, Red Bull heeft al aantal maanden geen updates meer mee genomen.

      Dat bewaren ze allemaal voor 2024, ze zijn nu al snel genoeg voor de rest van het veld.

      McLaren hoeft niet eens de snelste te zijn, maar dat ze in ieder geval niet weer in de achterhoede beginnen zoals al 2 jaar het geval was.

    Lando heeft veel meer lol in het gewoon maar racen. Leclerc is volgens mij tamelijk gefixeerd op resultaten.

    Dat valt wel mee. Die auto is gewoon heel wisselvallig. Hij heeft hier en daar een foutje gemaakt maar dat hebben ze allemaal. Die perfecte ronde bestaat immers niet.
