Wolff geeft Mercedes-werknemers gokverbod in Las Vegas

De Formule 1 bereidt zich voor op een bijzonder raceweekend in Las Vegas. Over een week zullen de heren coureurs dwars door het hart van de wereldberoemde gokstad gaan rijden. Mercedes-teambaas Toto Wolff laat weten dat het niet de bedoeling is dat zijn werknemers plaats gaan nemen achter de gokkasten.

Het gokthema komt overal op en langs het stratencircuit van Las Vegas terug. Op de kerbstones zijn de tekens van speelkaarten te zien, de grote hotels en casino's vormen het decor en zelfs op de helm van Max Verstappen zijn verwijzingen naar de gokelementen te zien. Toch zullen de teams en coureurs zich vooral moeten focussen op hun werkzaamheden op het circuit, niemand weet immers wat ze van de baan kunnen verwachten.

Ook Mercedes-teambaas Toto Wolff heeft geen idee wat hem te wachten staat in de stad middenin de Mojave-woestijn. De Oostenrijker geeft toe dat het voor hem nog onbekend terrein is en dat hij geen idee heeft hoe ze zich door de stad gaan begeven. In gesprek met Motorsport.com laat hij wel lachend weten wat zijn mensen niet mogen doen: "Ik ben nog nooit in Las Vegas geweest, maar we gaan ervoor zorgen dat iedereen wegblijft van de casino's. Ik gok zelf niet en ik zal ervoor zorgen dat niemand van ons dat gaat doen."

    Mag ik wel of mag ik niet, zo heet het gokspelletje.
    Ik zeg dan bv, ik krijg vanavond geen s*ks zeker en dan zegt zij, goed geraden jongen.
