Verstappen ziet op korte termijn geen vrouwelijke coureur in F1

Max Verstappen verwacht niet op korte termijn dat vrouwelijke coureurs op de grid zullen staan van de Formule 1, ondanks meerde initiatieven van de FIA en de FOM. De drievoudig kampioen baseert zijn mening op een simpele statistiek.

''Ik denk dat het percentage voor mannen al erg laag is om in de F1 te komen, dus voor vrouwen is het nog moeilijker omdat er minder vrouwen zijn die een racecarrière hebben'', stipt de Nederlander aan voor de microfoon van F1TV.

Volgens de Red Bull-coureur heeft dat niks te maken met lichamelijke uitdagingen die vrouwelijke rijders te verduren krijgen bij het besturen van een Formule 1-bolide. ''Ik denk dat het fysiek rijden op bepaalde punten behoorlijk zwaar is, maar ik denk wel dat het allemaal te trainen is als je er hard voor werkt, maar voor een vrouw is het natuurlijk iets moeilijker.''

Volgens Verstappen is kunde wat telt om in de Formule 1 te komen, ongeacht het geslacht. ''Als je voldoende talent hebt, dan kan dat wel, want ik denk niet dat teambazen mensen zijn die beslissingen nemen over de keuze van hun coureurs: bekijk het als ‘oh nee, wij gaan alleen voor mannen’.''

Hij vervolgt: ''Als er een vrouw is die alle anderen verslaat, dan krijgt zij de kans om naar de Formule 1 te gaan, maar het is gewoon zo dat er minder vrouwen in de sport zijn en dat het percentage om de top te halen lager is."

Lella Lombari was de laatste vrouwelijke coureur die een officiële Grand Prix reed, meer dan veertig jaren geleden. Anno nu pogen de FIA en de F1 om vrouwelijke rijders betere kansen te geven richting de koningsklasse, waar de F1 Acadamy een belangrijke rol in speelt.

Marketing technisch zou het geweldig zijn om een vrouw in de F1 te hebben, waar (bijna) geen enkele team baas nee tegen zou zeggen. Dus wat Max zegt lijkt mij dan ook te kloppen.

Op lange termijn ook niet.........eerlijk gezegd helemaal niet, behalve dan als veldvulling net als de vorige vrouwen die het zonodig moesten proberen.

dit gaat een team alleen doen om geld en vrouwelijke ´fans´ te winnen.ik zie het wel gebeuren.maar niet om de sportieve prestaties.

Om de één of andere reden zijn de vrouwen gewoon niet snel genoeg.

Ook in de opstap klassen zijn gewoon geen vrouwen die snel zijn.
Die vrouwen klasse gaat daar ook niet bij helpen ben ik bang dat is meer een beetje voor de bühne heb ik het idee
