FIA grijpt in na slimmigheidje Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen haalde gisteren een opvallende actie uit tijdens de tweede vrije training. De Nederlandse Red Bull Racing-coureur haalde meerdere coureurs in bij het uitrijden van de pitlane. Het was vrij krap en wedstrijdleider Niels Wittich heeft dan ook ingegrepen voor de zaterdag.

Bij de tweede herstart in de tweede vrije training nam Verstappen direct actie. Hij haalde Pierre Gasly, George Russell en Lewis Hamilton in toen hij de pitlane verliet. Het werd zeer krap en Verstappen leek te denken aan de regels die in Brazilië werden ingevoerd. In Abu Dhabi gelden er andere regels, want wedstrijdleider Niels Wittich heeft de event notes aangepast. Onder punt veertien van de kwalificatie staat nu dat coureurs niet mogen inhalen in de pit exit road, tenzij er een auto langzaam rijdt met een overduidelijk probleem.

      Waarom überhaupt al in de VT ? Ik vond het kinderachtig om te gaan klagen als er helemaal geen duidelijke haast bij is.
      Maar ja een nieuwe regel. Heeft de FIA-portier ook weer iets om te doen nu.

    Maar dan moeten ze ook de regel invoeren dat als er belachelijk langzaam gereden wordt bij het uitrijden van de pit je direct gediskwalificeerd wordt. Je bent daar om de baan op te gaan, als je later op de baan had willen zijn moet je maar wat langer wachten in de pitbox. Rijden is gas er op.

      Zo woest hoeft het nu ook weer niet maar ik zou zeggen, stel gewoon een minimum snelheid in. En wie daar onder zit krijgt gewoon standaard een gridstraf van 1 plaats. Dan ben je echt wel van het probleem af want dat willen ze niet.
