Apetrotse Horner grapt: "Er is nog ruimte voor verbetering!"

Het team van Red Bull Racing sloot het seizoen af in stijl. Max Verstappen won de slotrace in Abu Dhabi en daarmee liet hij nog maar eens zien hoe machtig het team is. Teambaas Christian Horner was extreem trots en hij stelt dat de RB19 een plekje in de geschiedenisboekjes heeft verdiend.

Red Bull Racing was dit seizoen een klasse apart. De Oostenrijkse renstal heeft 21 van de 22 Grands Prix gewonnen en ze werden met twee vingers in de neus constructeurskampioen. Max Verstappen kroonde zich voor het derde jaar op rij tot wereldkampioen in de koningsklasse van de autosport. In Abu Dhabi reed hij met speels gemak weg bij de rest van het veld en won hij zijn negentiende Grand Prix van het jaar.

Ruimte voor verbetering

Red Bull-teambaas Christian Horner was enorm trots op de resultaten van zijn team. De Brit kijkt tevreden terug op het jaar in gesprek met Sky Sports: "Deze auto zal de geschiedenisboekjes ingaan als een speciale wagen. We hebben 21 van de 22 Grands Prix gewonnen. Alleen Singapore wonnen we niet, dus er is ruimte voor verbetering! Wat een jaar. Dit betekent veel voor alle jongens en meiden achter de schermen thuis op de fabriek, in de hele business. Van de catering tot de vrachtwagenchauffeurs en de ontwerpers."

Fenomenaal jaar

Horner zag dat zijn team onder alle omstandigheden wist te presteren. De Brit is daar extreem trots op en dat deelt hij graag met de rest van de wereld: "We hebben op 22 verschillende circuits gereden en daarvan hebben we op 21 circuits gewonnen. We hebben regen en allerlei andere omstandigheden en tactieken gehad. Het was een fenomenaal jaar en iedereen kan enorm trots zijn op wat ze hebben bereikt."
