Steiner weet niet veel over comedyserie: "Ik ben gewoon producer"

Haas-teambaas Günther Steiner maakt binnenkort mogelijk een opvallende move. De Italiaan wordt in verband gebracht met een comedyserie van de grote Amerikaanse zender CBS. Steiner kan er wel om lachen en hij stelt dat hij slechts als producer is betrokken bij het project.

Vlak voor de Grand Prix van Abu Dhabi werd bekend dat de populaire Steiner mogelijk wordt betrokken bij een comedyserie. Het Hollywood-platform Deadline meldde namelijk dat CBS werkt een aan zogenaamde 'workplace comedy' die moet plaatsvinden in de sportwereld. Het centrale karakter in de serie zou dan gaan lijken op Steiner. De Italiaan is zeer populair vanwege zijn grote rol in de Netflix-reeks 'Drive to Survive'.

Nog niets aan de hand

Steiner kan wel lachen om het nieuws over de comedyserie. Hij ontkent niet dat er iets gaande is, maar hij laat aan Motorsport.com weten dat het nog geen groot project is: "Ik weet niet wat er gebeurt. Ik heb met CBS gesproken, maar op dit moment is er nog niets. Ik ben gewoon een producer, als er tenminste iets van komt. Ik heb maanden geleden met ze gesproken, maar momenteel is er niets. Ik denk dat ze proberen om er iets van dit maken, maar momenteel gebeurt er nog niets."

Producer

Steiner heeft dan ook geen idee hoe het concept van de serie er precies uitziet. De Italiaan weet net zoveel als de rest van de wereld: "De schrijvers komen met het concept en ik ben alleen maar een producer. Ze stellen een concept voor en vanaf daar begin je. Of ik een centrale rol speel? Dat weet ik niet. Een schrijver komt met het concept, komt dan naar mij toe dan vraagt hij mij of ik daar producer van wil zijn. Dat is het, maar er staat momenteel nog niets vast."

Ik denk dat je je als een zichzelf respecterend team (-baas) hier helemaal niet mee moet inlaten.
Een comedy serie klinkt leuk tot je opeens "the laughing stock" van de paddock bent en iedereen een deur loopt te f*cksmashen
