Verstappen leest bewust weinig Formule 1-nieuws

Max Verstappen werd dit jaar voor het derde seizoen op rij wereldkampioen in de Formule 1. De Nederlandse Red Bull Racing-coureur maakte altijd een zeer relaxte indruk. Verstappen probeert zijn hoofd koel te houden en hij volgt het nieuws over zijn sport dan ook niet meer.

Verstappen kende dit jaar een zeer sterk seizoen in de koningsklasse van de autosport. Hij speelde met zijn concurrenten en in de sprintrace in Qatar prolongeerde hij al zijn wereldtitel. Hij verbrak dit seizoen tevens een vrachtlading aan wereldrecords. Onder meer het record van de meeste zeges op rij en de meeste zeges in één seizoen staan op zijn naam. Daarnaast heeft hij ook het hoogste winstpercentage in één seizoen op zijn naam staan.

Verstappen oogde vaak zeer kalm tijdens zijn zegetocht. Hij sluit zich vaak af van de buitenwereld en hij houdt zijn privéleven graag privé. In een interview met het tijdschrift Formule 1 Magazine wordt hem gevraagd of zijn lage activiteit op sociale media hem minder kwetsbaar maakt: "Dat klopt. Ik volg sowieso niet zo heel veel Formule 1-gerelateerde accounts of mensen. Ik negeer veel Formule 1-nieuws bewust, dan komt het op een bepaald moment ook niet meer in mijn tijdlijn. Eigenlijk volg ik alleen andere sporten en sporters, ook om op die manier wat balans te krijgen in mij leven. Ik wil, al helemaal niet als ik thuis ben, niet alles weten over wat er in de paddock speelt."

Ik geloof Max hierin niet helemaal.. Hij is mij iets teveel op de hoogte van allerlei zaken die je niet kan weten als je geen F1-nieuws volgt..
