Verstappen genomineerd voor prestigieuze Britse sportprijs

Max Verstappen kende dit jaar een ongekend sterk seizoen in de Formule 1. De Nederlander won slechts drie races niet en hij werd voor het derde jaar op rij wereldkampioen. Dit kan hem nu een extra prijs opleveren, want hij is genomineerd voor een prestigieuze sportprijs van de BBC.

De Britse omroep reikt elk jaar prijzen uit voor de beste sporters. Ze reiken ook een prijs uit voor de beste internationale sporter van het jaar. Verstappen is nu genomineerd voor de 'World Sport Star Award'. De Nederlander is één van de zes genomineerden en de fans kunnen nu stemmen. Naast Verstappen zijn ook voetballer Erling Haaland, turnster Simone Biles, tennisser Novak Djokovic, voetbalster Aitana Bonmati en rugbyer Siya Kolisi genomineerd.
