Verstappen wijst grootste fout aan: "Dat was gênant"

Max Verstappen kende dit jaar een vrijwel foutloos seizoen in de Formule 1. De Nederlander finishte pakte in alle races punten, hij won negentien races en hij werd voor het derde seizoen op rij wereldkampioen. Toch zijn er twee momentjes waar Verstappen niet tevreden mee is.

Verstappen reed dit jaar ijzersterk rond in de Formule 1. De Red Bull Racing-coureur won een recordaantal van negentien Grands Prix en in die andere races speelde hij ook een hoofdrol. In Saoedi-Arabië en Azerbeidzjan kwam hij als tweede over de streep achter zijn teamgenoot Sergio Perez. In Singapore scoorde hij wel punten, maar hij eindigde toen voor de eerste en enige keer in 2023 niet op het podium.

Het raceweekend in Singapore verliep niet naar wens voor Red Bull. Verstappen wijst dat dan ook aan als één van zijn mindere momenten. De Nederlander ziet in gesprek met Blick echter een ander moment als zijn grootste fout van het jaar: "Ik raakte de pitmuur in Silverstone. Dat is nogal gênant. Maar ook in Singapore ging niet alles optimaal. Helaas maakte ik daar een fout bij het afstellen van de auto, dus dat is wat er gebeurde. Het was onze enige nederlaag van heel 2023, het seizoen was dus perfect."
