Wereldkampioen Verstappen feestelijk ontvangen op Red Bull-fabriek

Het team van Red Bull Racing werd dit jaar met speels gemak constructeurskampioen en met Max Verstappen grepen ze tevens de wereldtitel. De renstal won vrijwel elk weekend en dat leverde ze een vrachtlading aan records op. Ze konden alleen geen feestje vieren met hun complete team.

Vandaag is daar echter verandering in gekomen. Op de de fabriek in het Britse Milton Keynes werden Verstappen en zijn teamgenoot Sergio Perez met luid gejuich ontvangen. Op een vrachtwagentje werden de coureurs rondgereden over het terrein en zwaaiden ze maar de werknemers. Later vond er ook nog een fotomoment plaats in de fabriek.

      Ik zou ook oprecht heel blij zijn met Max en Checo en die dubbele bonus die ik op mijn bankrekening geschreven zou krijgen als werknemer van Red Bull Racing zijnde.

      Ik denk zo dat hij hier geen moeite mee heeft, Moondust.

      Het niet alleen een ode aan Verstappen, maar Verstappen dankt iedereen die zo'n groot succes heeft gemaakt van 2023.

      Het is ook gewoon fijn voor hem juist omdat het zijn laatste werkdag van 2023 was. (denk ik. In ieder geval heeft hij indirect zoiets gezegd in een interview.)

      Denk dat Max hier echt wel van genoten heeft @Moondust.
      Samen met alle mensen het fenomenale 2023 seizoen vieren en afsluiten.
      Al die mensen hebben een steentje bijgedragen aan dat succes en daar is Max zich echt wel van bewust.
      Na de viering vanmiddag op dit moment beginnen aan het Wings For Life evenement zal minder leuk zijn. Kijken hoe de aanwezige gasten bieden op RBR artikelen allemaal voor het goede doel. Dat is meer een verplichting, maar ook dàt zal hij echt niet met tegenzin doen lijkt me.

      Omdat Verstappen vaak zat heeft aangegeven daar helemaal geen trek in te hebben en daarvoor niet naar Nederland wil komen. Na zijn eerste kampioenschap waren er allerlei plannen voor huldigingen, van plaatselijke in Limburg tot landelijke in Amsterdam inclusief een vaartocht door de grachten. Maar het management was er snel bij om namens Max te bedanken voor al deze initiatieven en vooral te benadrukken dat ze natuurlijk een feestje mogen vieren, maar dat Max er niet bij zou zijn. Vandaar dus.

      Verstappen is volgens mij vorig jaar geridderd voor zijn prestaties. Verder is er bij olympische sporters een burgemeester van een dorp die wat organiseert. Eventueel dan. Maar Verstappen heeft nooit in nl gewoond. En nu woont hij in Monaco.

      Overigens snap ik de vraag niet. Verstappen zou toch niet komen. Hij zal er ook niet bij zijn strakst bij de verkiezing sportman.
