Horner deelt: "Red Bull onthult RB17-straatauto in 2024"

Het team van Red Bull Racing is momenteel bezig met meerdere projecten. Vanzelfsprekend ligt de focus vooral op de auto voor het aanstaande seizoen. Maar daarnaast wordt er nog hard gewerkt aan een aantal andere zaken. Christian Horner doet namelijk een opvallende onthulling over Red Bulls eerste straatauto.

Red Bull maakte geruime tijd geleden al bekend dat ze bezig zijn met de ontwikkeling van een straatauto. De wagen gaan de naam RB17 krijgen en het wordt een extreem racemonster. De hypercar zal over zo'n 1250 pk beschikken en Adrian Newey is ook hier verantwoordelijk voor grote delen van het design. De Brit stond eerder ook aan de wieg van bijvoorbeeld de Aston Martin Valkyrie.

Red Bull-teambaas Christian Horner heeft onthuld dat de RB17 dit jaar zal worden gepresenteerd. Horner looft Newey en legt de situatie uit bij Sky Sports: "Adrian heeft een sleutelrol gespeeld binnen ons team en dat is in de afgelopen achttien jaar doorgegroeid. Wat geweldig is, is dat onze kracht ligt in ons technisch team. Adrian is met zijn kennis en ervaring in staat om op te treden als een soort mentor voor dat team. Hij heeft ook de RB17 ontworpen, dat is onze eerste straatauto en we zullen deze gaan onthullen in 2024."
