Brundle vermoedt frictie bij Haas na Steiner-exit

Het team van Haas zorgde eerder deze week voor een schok toen ze bekend maakte dat teambaas Günther Steiner geen nieuw contract had gekregen. Het vertrek van Steiner kwam voor sommigen als een verrassing, Martin Brundle denkt dat er meer aan de hand is bij Haas.

Haas kende vorig jaar een teleurstellend seizoen in de Formule 1. De Amerikaanse renstal eindigde als laatste in het constructeurskampioenschap en ze konden geen echte vuist vormen in de duels met de concurrentie. Uiteindelijk besloot teameigenaar Gene Haas om het contract van Steiner niet te verlengen en werd de Italiaan vervangen door Ayao Komatsu. Kenners denken dat er op de achtergrond meer speelt bij Haas.

Eerder deze week werd namelijk bekend dat ook technisch directeur Simone Resta is vertrokken bij Haas. Oud-coureur en huidig Sky Sport-commentator Martin Brundle denkt dat er iets aan de hand is bij Haas. Op X legt Brundle zijn gedachten uit: "Het is altijd betekenisvol als degene die vertrekt niet wordt geciteerd in het persbericht. Dat vertelt meestal dat er frictie is, ik denk dat we hier nog meer over gaan horen. Het team heeft niet genoeg progressie geboekt in de voorgaande jaren. Het is moeilijk om te zeggen waardoor dat komt als je er niet in zit."

Het is een veel voorkomende situatie in bedrijfsleven. Als het een tijdje niet goed gaat dan maar reorganiseren en kosten snijden. Meestal wordt bespaard ten koste van personeel(labour cost dus) omdat bij andere items allang een cost-efficiency analyse was gedaan. En dan kijk je uiteraard naar de meest kostende items. In dit geval heb je dus coureurs en daarna de leden van MT, daarna kijk je naar senior/specialist level kosten en tegelijkertijd ook naar officer/assistant level. Ik zal niet verbaasd zijn als Haas dit ook zo doet.
Wel is het typisch Amerikaans om iemand met zo'n 'oprot-doosje' weg te sturen per direct.

  Wat ook de reden is , wat ik echt schandalig vind is dat Steiner niet eens de mogelijkheid heeft gekregen om fatsoenlijk afscheid te kunnen nemen, niet van de coureurs en het team maar zelfs niet van de mensen op de fabriek !
  Gezien het feit dat Steiner eigenaar is van een bedrijf wat belangrijke delen ontwikkeld en maakt zou dit geintje Haas nog een terug kunnen bijten.
  Het zou een mooie zijn als Steiner nu ook een einde maakt aan de deal tussen Haas en zijn bedrijf wat koolstofvezel en glasvezel F1 onderdelen maakt.

Zoiets zou je kunnen vermoeden voor ontslag... na ontslag is het gewoon een feit. (Ten minste een frictie in bestuurswijze)

  Harry, mocht je de link hier net onder beluisteren, dan hoor je dat Steiner geen laatste wil zijn. Ze zijn samen (Haas en Steiner) om er mee te stoppen. Als er al frictie is, dan toch niet tussen die twee heren.

Saward, voor mij gerespecteerd journaille, denkt dat ze samen hebben besloten te vertrekken. Ook denkt hij dat Steiner nooit is verboden afscheid te nemen van de mensen in de fabriek. In bovenstaande l i n k te beluisteren.
