Ontslagen Steiner werkt aan nieuw boek

Günther Steiner was deze maand groot in het nieuws. De Italiaan kreeg geen nieuw contract en hij moest vertrekken als teambaas van Haas. Steiner gaat zich nu echter niet vervelen, want hij is druk bezig. Hij onthult dat hij bezig is met het maken van een tweede boek.

Het team van Haas beleefde vorig jaar een teleurstellend seizoen in de Formule 1. De Amerikaanse renstal eindigde als laatste in het constructeurskampioenschap en er was veel ergernis merkbaar. De updates hadden niet het gewenste effect en de prestaties vielen enorm tegen. Steiner verscheen echter veelvuldig in het nieuws. Hij greep zijn populariteit aan om een boek uit te brengen. Zijn werk 'Surviving to Drive' werd een groot succes.

Tweede boek

Steiner beschreef in zijn boek hoe het eraan toe ging achter de schermen bij het team van Haas. Aangezien dat team zijn contract niet heeft verlengd, heeft hij veel meer tijd over. Steiner werkt samen met ghostwriter James Hogg aan een tweede boek. Bij Motorsport.com bevestigt Steiner dit nieuws: "We zijn momenteel inderdaad bezig met een tweede boek. We hadden dit al eerder besloten. Maar nu wordt het verhaal waarschijnlijk wel iets anders dan we hadden gedacht!"

Nieuwe lessen

Steiner weet nog niet wat hij verder gaat doen, maar momenteel voelt hij zich goed. Het schrijven van een boek zorgt er in ieder geval voor dat hij goed gemutst is. Steiner vindt het namelijk heel erg leuk om te doen: "Het was een compleet nieuwe ervaring. Ik heb heel erg veel geleerd over hoe sommige industrieën te werk gaan en hoe sommige dingen tot stand komen, want ik was hier nog nooit mee geconfronteerd."
