Verstappen wint laatste ronder van Real Racers Never Quit

Max Verstappen zit niet stil tijdens de winterstop. De Nederlandse regerend wereldkampioen Formule 1 kwam deze weken veelvuldig in actie tijdens simraces. Gisteravond nam Verstappen deel aan de laatste race van 'Real Racers Never Quit', hij kwam als winnaar over de streep.

Verstappen en zijn vrienden van Team Redline organiseerden in de afgelopen weken weer het kampioenschap 'Real Racers Never Quit'. Aan deze races namen meerdere simracers en echte coureurs deel. Verstappen miste een aantal rondes van het kampioenschap waardoor hij geen kans meer maakte op de titel. Dat betekent echter niet dat hij rustig aan deed, Verstappen ging er weer goed voor zitten.

De zesde en laatste race van het kampioenschap werd verreden op de virtuele variant van het circuit van Fuji. De coureurs namen plaats in een GT3-bolide en Verstappen greep de pole position. De race duurde dertig minuten en kende een rollende start. Verstappen kwam goed weg en bij het insturen van de eerste bocht had hij geen enkele probleem. Verstappen vocht een duel uit met simracer Gianni Vecchio, maar de Italiaan kon het hem niet echt lastig maken. In de slotfase wist ook William Chadwick aansluiting te vinden, maar ook hij kon Verstappen niet bijhalen. De Nederlander won, maar de titel ging uiteindelijk naar Chris Lulham.
