Jos Verstappen begint rallyseizoen met keurige tweede plaats

Terwijl Max Verstappen bezig is met de voorbereidingen op het nieuwe seizoen, heeft Jos Verstappen al zijn eerste race gereden. De voormalig Formule 1-coureur verscheen weer aan de start van een rally en dat ging volledig naar wens. Hij werd als tweede geklasseerd.

Jos Verstappen nam samen met zijn navigator Renaud Jamoul deel aan de Rallye des Route du Nord. De rally werd verreden op Frans grondgebied en Verstappen deed het zeker niet slecht. Het Franse asfalt beviel hem goed en hij won meerdere stages. Uiteindelijk eindigde hij in zijn Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 op de tweede plaats op slechts 8,5 seconden van eindwinnaar Pierre Ragues.

Jos Verstappen heeft genoten van zijn deelname aan de Rallye des Route du Nord. De Nederlander was tevreden en hij sprak zich uit bij Verstappen.com: "Dit was voor mij de eerste rally van het seizoen en die hebben we aangegrepen als voorbereiding op mijn seizoen in 2024. Het was een nieuwe rally voor mij, op een parcours dat klad was geworden door de vele regen die was gevallen. Die omstandigheden waren natuurlijk voor alle deelnemers hetzelfde. Hoe meer rally's ik rijd, hoe beter de samenwerking met Renaud verloopt. Het was een goed begin en ik heb mij vermaakt."
