Marko verrast door Hamilton-transfer: "Beter dan Netflix"

Lewis Hamilton zorgde voor een enorme schok tijdens de winterstop. De Britse zevenvoudig wereldkampioen maakte bekend dat hij per 2025 gaat rijden voor het team van Ferrari. Helmut Marko geeft aan dat hij dit niet aan zag komen, hij denkt dat Hamilton iets weet wat de rest van de wereld nog niet weet.

Hamilton rijdt al sinds 2013 voor het team van Mercedes. De Britse coureur reed in de jaren daarvoor ook met een Mercedes-krachtbron bij het team van McLaren. Het leek er dan ook op dat hij zijn gehele loopbaan zou gaan rijden met Mercedes-steun, maar na dit seizoen komt daar dus een einde aan. Hamilton gaat zijn jeugddroom in vervulling brengen en hij heeft een meerderjarig contract getekend bij Ferrari.

Sensatie

Red Bull-adviseur Helmut Marko houdt de rijdersmarkt altijd goed in de gaten. De aanstaande transfer van Hamilton was ook voor hem een daverende verrassing. In gesprek met OE24 legt Marko dat uit: "Dit is een sportieve sensatie, zeker gezien de timing. Je vraagt je af hoe dit zover is gekomen. Mercedes werd vorig jaar in de tweede seizoenshelft ingehaald door Ferrari en ook McLaren was sneller. Misschien weet hij iets wat de buitenwereld nog niet weet."

Netflix

Marko verwacht dat Mercedes het vertrek van Hamilton gaat voelen. De Oostenrijker stelt dat Mercedes hierdoor alleen maar zwakker gaat worden. Hij verwacht de gevolgen dit jaar al te zien: "Normaal gesproken denkt iemand in zo'n situatie al aan zijn nieuwe team. Daarnaast neemt het huidige team hem niet meer mee in de ontwikkeling van de auto. Die informatie kan hij namelijk meenemen. Deze overstap is geweldig voor de sport. Het is beter dan Netflix."

  Ik heb nog geen enkele aflevering gezien, geen behoefte aan gehad.
  Fictie of een goede weergave van de werkelijkheid maar geen plak en knipwerk om iets mooier of slechter te maken dan het is.
