HRT bestraft na 'unsafe release' van Daniel Ricciardo

Hispania Racing is na afloop van de Grand Prix in Korea bestraft met een geldboete. Bij de tweede pitstop werd Daniel Ricciardo te snel losgelaten door de lollypop-man en daarvoor ontvangt HRT een boete van 5000 euro.

Ricciardo eindigde de race in Korea uiteindelijk als negentiende en bleef daarmee zowel Jerome D'Ambrosio als zijn teamgenoot Vitantonio Liuzzi voor. "We hadden een goede race en het is fijn om dit weekend te eindigen met een finishpositie. We hadden de hele race een goede snelheid in de auto en konden het gevecht met de Virgins aangaan. Na de safety car maakte ik zelf echter een fout doordat ik Timo Glock wilde aanvallen, maar uiteindelijk werd ik voorbij gereden door D'Ambrosio. Gelukkig eindigden we nog tussen beide Virgins in, maar hopelijk kunnen we ze de volgende race allebei pakken."

Teamgenoot Liuzzi moest al in de eerste ronde een stop maken, nadat hij schade had opgelopen aan zijn voorvleugel. "Ik had een goede start en kon meteen wat auto's passeren. Daarna vloog er wat rotzooi over de baan en dat moet ik geraakt hebben, want meteen daarna had ik problemen met de auto. Ik raakte een Virgin en moest een nieuwe voorvleugel halen. De safety car kwam voor mij op het meest slechte moment naar buiten, net toen ik door de leiders op een ronde achterstand was gezet. De auto was niet gemakkelijk te besturen, maar gelukkig hebben we wel de finish weten te halen", aldus Liuzzi.

Nou Liuzzi liefhebbers geniet nog maar goed van hem want nog 3 races en die zien we nooit meer terug. The future is all to be written.
