Alonso terug op plek des onheils: "Voelt een beetje ongemakkelijk"

Ferrari-coureur Fernando Alonso bewaart geen goede herinneringen aan het Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Daar verspeelde de Spanjaard vorig jaar de titel op een pijnlijke manier. Door een verkeerde strategie belandde hij achter Vitaly Petrov en dat bleek een onneembare horde.

Alonso is terug op de plek des onheils, voor de Grand Prix van Abu Dhabi 2011, en verbergt zijn teleurstelling over 2010 niet. “Ik weet zeker dat ik de meeste vragen zal krijgen over de race van vorig jaar. En ik zou liegen als ik zou zeggen dat ik me niet een beetje ongemakkelijk voel.”

“Maar dat gevoel verdwijnt hopelijk snel om ruimte te maken voor het heden, met als doel om het goed te doen komend weekend en in de toekomst, en zoveel mogelijk te leren voor volgend jaar. Je moet altijd vooruit kijken. Abu Dhabi 2010 was een belangrijke dag in mijn loopbaan en ondanks de slechte afloop heeft het mijn band met Ferrari alleen maar versterkt.”

      Daar dacht ik ook aan. Massa was tot de laatste bocht van hamilton virtueel kampioen. Alonso zat al 20ronden vast achter Petrov.

      Tsja en zelfs al was ie er voorbij geraakt had ie nog steeds geen WK geweest want er reden er nog meer voor hem die hij ook nog had moeten inhalen..

      Het grote verschil is dat Alonso het wereldkampioenschap verspeelde. Massa stond achter in de stand om het WK en het beste wat hij kon doen was winnen, dat deed hij ook in Brazilië.
