Perez: "Met nieuwe banden meer speelruimte voor strategie"

De nieuwe banden van Pirelli zullen in 2012 voor meer opwindende en interessantere races zorgen. Die verwachting sprak Sauber-coureur Sergio Perez een dag voor de eerste test in Jerez uit. Pirelli heeft de verschillen tussen de compounds verkleind en de banden zijn over de gehele lijn wat zachter.

"Met de nieuwe banden krijgen de teams en coureurs meer ruimte om te variëren met de tactiek", begint Perez. "Het nieuwe rubber zal de races interessanter maken en voor meer opwinding zorgen. Het raamwerk voor strategische keuzes wordt groter. We hebben veel contact gehad met de engineers en goede communicatie is belangrijk. Het team is sterk en hoewel ik nog deel uitmaak van de Ferrari Academy ben ik volledig gericht op het komende seizoen bij Sauber."
