VT2: Vettel continueert goede Valencia-vorm Red Bull Racing

Het team van Red Bull Racing won de afgelopen twee jaar in Valencia en de Oostenrijkse renstal heeft op de eerste dag van de Europese Grand Prix 2012 een stap gezet in de richting van een hattrick. Sebastian Vettel zette met een 1:39.334 de beste tijd op zijn naam. De top drie bestaat verder met Nico Hulkenberg en Kamui Kobayashi uit verrassende namen.

Michael Schumacher en Bruno Senna zorgen voor vijf verschillende teams in de top vijf. Het was sowieso een competitieve sessie, met vijftien rijders binnen een seconde van elkaar. Mercedes liep aan het begin van de sessie wat vertraging op doordat het de versnellingsbakratio's bij beide wagens aanpaste. Schumacher kampte later nog met een klein aandrijvingsprobleem, maar dat was snel verholpen.

Groter waren de problemen voor HRT-coureur Pedro de la Rosa. De Spanjaard gleed op een vreemde manier rechtdoor in bocht 14, zo de muur in. Een unicum in Valencia. Sergio Perez spinde nog in bocht 17. Pastor Maldonado, Jean-Eric Vergne en Felipe Massa gingen wijd in bocht 2, en Massa schoot ook in bocht 12 rechtdoor. Dat aapte Romain Grosjean later na bij het inhalen van Schumacher.

Het gaat goed met FI team!!!! Rosberg was nog sneller (onderweg) maar door de gele vlag van Pedro de la Rosa deed rust aan:P

De mclarens hebben zo lijkt het, afstellingsproblemen.
Jenson doet het nu beter dan de vorige races.

Voor derest ziet rbr er goed uit, echter, ik weet neit hoeveel waarde je hieraan moet toekennen, want als ik een FI op 2 zie staan dan heb i k vraagtekens.
Ik kan me niet voorstellen dat FI sneller is dan, mcl, mercedes, ferrari en lotus.

  Klopt, de balans was niet zo best. Ze moeten een goede setup zien te vinden voor de kwalificatie anders wordt het een moeilijk verhaal dit weekend.

  Inderdaad heel veel rokende banden bij de rempunten trage bochten. Beide mcl rijders.
  Maar goed ze hebben morgen nog. Een goed quali is wel essentieel hier.
