Alguersuari en Kovalainen in beeld bij Sauber voor 2013

De namen van Jaime Alguersuari en Heikki Kovalainen vallen steeds vaker in verband met een racestoeltje bij Sauber voor volgend jaar. Het tweetal is in beeld om Kamui Kobayashi op te volgen. De Japanner beleefde een stormachtige entree in de Formule 1, maar dit jaar staat zijn teamgenoot Sergio Perez meer in de schijnwerpers met onder meer twee podiumplekken.

Kovalainen, momenteel in dienst bij Caterham, ziet een stap hogerop wel zitten. De Fin vertelde aan Turun Sanomat: "Persoonlijk is het mijn doel om een beter zitje te bemachtigen, al weet ik niet waar. Ik heb nog met niemand gesproken. Het moge duidelijk zijn dat ik op zijn minst voor punten in aanmerking wil komen. Ik voel me lekker bij Caterham, wat we samen opgebouwd hebben gaat de juiste kant op en dat gooi je niet zomaar weg. Maar ik ben ook de jongste niet meer."

Alguersuari slijt zijn dagen als testrijder bij Pirelli, maar hij is overtuigd van een rentree in 2013. Aan EFE en Marca deelde hij mede: "Volgend jaar race ik weer, honderd procent zeker. Er zijn veel mogelijkheden en opties. Ongeacht of de transfermarkt op gang komt, ik rij volgend seizoen weer Formule 1, dat staat voor mij vast. Ik vraag geen auto om te winnen, maar ik wil wel constant de top tien binnen bereik hebben. Dit jaar zijn dat teams als Williams, Sauber en Force India."

dat zijn rijders met klasse. Bovendien heeft alguersari ervaring des te meer, met de pirelli-banden

Ik denk dat Alguersuari wel de juiste zou zijn om Kobayashi op te gaan volgen bij Sauber, was in het begin wel fan van de vechtlust van Kobayashi, maar ik vind hem zeker dit jaar behoorlijk tegenvallen.
bovendien vind ik dat Alguersuari nog wel een kansje verdient

Het lijkt mij wel wat om Kovalainen weer bij McLaren terug te zien. Misschien naast Button?

  Nou hij reed echt onwijs goed naast Hamilton in de Mclaren, zal niet zo snel meer bij een topteam komen. Vind hem ook tegenover Petrov niet overtuigen. Zie veel liever Kubica terugkomen in de Sauber, Heeft al eens voor gereden en Peter Sauber weet wel wat hij allemaal kan!

Helemaal niet de filosofie van Sauber om twee ervaren coureurs te nemen. Ik neem dit bericht dan ook niet serieus. Als ze een ervaren coureur aantrekken zou ik het mooi vinden als het Kubica zal zijn. Kans zal wel héél klein zijn.
